Sketches and Samples

I made a more up to date and refined front and back design drawing for my costume minus trousers and shoes. I'm still not entirely sure what her satchel is going to look like as I've searched for traditional Mongolian bags but haven't found anything authentic so I don't know whether to design my own satchel bag thing or keep searching.

I finally started to create my jacket/coat pattern by cutting out some pattern blocks which I'm then going to adjust to my design and make it however big I need.

Some trim samples arrived that I intent to use to separate the black sections of my costume from the red sections.

Nomadic travelers only have traditional means for creating fabrics, mainly weaving on a loom or felting techniques. So obviously I wanted to use the fabric that best simulated the appearance of the techniques. The Boiled Wool Jersey Fabric in Red is a loosely woven and rough but surprisingly soft so it wont be really abrasive on skin.
