Waistcoat Construction

Moving on to making the waistcoat I followed the step by step instructions in the Victorian Tailoring book to draw out all my pattern pieces.

My calico tester came out well. Annoyingly I didn't take any pictures of the making of my actual waistcoat but it went better than I expected. I had slight trouble making the lining fit due to the collar so I cut out the chest pattern piece in the lining fabric, sewed it together then made changes to it so it fitted around the waistcoat collar. After constructing most of the tailcoat beforehand constructing the waistcoat was a lot easier to do.

This is the final costume and the waistcoat goes really well with the tailcoat I finished it off by sewing on some ivory effect buttons
