sheath research

On tackling the knife sheath I initially searched for existing examples so I could see how they were constructed and their general appearance. I want my prop to look very natural so if I can avoid using rivets and metal components and instead use a leather lacing technique it should add to the vintage look.

This wooden peg method to keeping the flap down is a simple but effective method which I might consider using.

I really like how this lacing technique has been used I'd like to incorporate this in my piece somehow.

I do however like the very simple designs as it would purely be for function and possibly customized over time so I could create something simple but incorporate an element of leather lacing for a more natural look
