FLAIL

After completing the axe I chose to undertake the task of constructing a medieval weapon known as a flail, which is a spikey ball on a chain attached to a wooden handle. I started by cutting the handle of a broom down, to the preferred handle length, using the band saw in the workshop.

I stained the wood using the same method that I used for the axe handle.

I wanted to add a hand grip to the flail handle, so using a curved file I made several grooves all the way around the wooden pole with even spacing.
