Handle

I took a piece of 2 by 4 and traced the handle of the axe on to it and used a band saw in the workshop to cut it out. The handle was still a bit too wide to fit comfortably in the hand so I had to get a tutor to run it through the big circular saw in the workshop.

The next stage was to sand it all down so it would be comfortable for anyone to hold. There is a big horizontal belt sander in the workshop which was perfect for really even sanding down the whole length of the axe handle. When it was sanded I got the opinion of some people who said it was a bit long so I cut it down, turning it in to more of a one handed tool or weapon.
